While there are hundreds of universities all over the United States, there is a limited amount of schools you can attend to obtain a Veterinary Degree. There are currently only 30 universities in the Unites States.
According to the American Veterinary Medicine Association, the following universities are schools that offer a veterinary medicine program:

- University of Georgia
- Michigan State University
- Tuskegee University
- University of Illinois
- The University of Minnesota
- Midwestern University
- Purdue University
- Mississippi State University
- University of California
- Iowa State University
- University of Missouri-Columbia
- Western University of Health Sciences
- Kansas State University
- Cornell University
- Colorado State University
- Louisiana State University
- North Carolina State University
- University of Florida
- Tufts University
- The Ohio State University
- Oklahoma State University
- University of Wisconsin-Madison
- Oregon State University
- University of Pennsylvania
- University of Tennessee
- Lincoln Memorial University
- Texas A&M University
- Virginia Tech
- Washington State University
There are also 19 other Accredited universities all over the world in Canada, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, Mexico, Netherlands, West Indies, England, New Zealand, and France.
To become a certified Veterinarian, you must obtain a degree from one of these schools listed. Veterinary school is very difficult to get into and competition is very high, very much due to the limited amount of schools.
